![]() ![]() Letting killers reapply the buffs of broken totems might also be good. I think boon totems being something the survivor has to commit to, and gets limited ability to use, makes the investment more meaningful and could let them make boon totems more potent without necessarily destroying the game. Of course, that's essentially adding all totems to the protection routine for killers, and they already have a lot to do. If Killers can see all totems anyway, and know where their active totems are, they could potentially plan around protecting some totems and destroying ones the survivors use, until survivors are locked out. Would that put it into competition with hex totems, and killers destroying boon totems reduces the number of places their hex totems can pop? Yes. Getting to reapply it constantly doesn't sound strategic or fun. That being said, I think it would be "fair" if a boon totem consumed the totem same as a hex totem. I've been sitting here for 5 mins trying to think of a joke to make but I just realised the animators of Mass Effect already did it for me Lord knows there's enough broken (literally and figuratively) stuff in this game to complain about with out going Chicken Little about something we haven't even seen. Like, everyone needs to shut the gently caress up about Boon Totems until at least one of them is revealed. No amount of dismissive emojis will make up for the fact that you're preemptively complaining about something with zero evidence. You have ZERO idea if Boon Totems are going to be strong, weak, or perfectly balance, because you have no idea what they do. You're complaining about the balance of something that literally doesn't exist. the perk is what will decide that boon totems are bad, not the concept of boon totems. survivors being able to freely reapply a boon does not somehow make killers weaker. ![]() You're chicken littling over something that as it stands we have no info about other than some of the mechanics about how it works. If you don't see how 'the killers get the hex but only once and then its gone and this perk is dead for the rest of the match now' feels a bit bad when held up against 'the survivors can keep reapplying this perk as many times as they want as long as there are totems in the map, which the survivors also are the only ones who can actually destroy (and therefore can guarantee there is always going to be a totem unless a rando decides their mission in life is to destroy every single totem on the map)', then I don't really know how to help you The actual boon details itself aren't what I'm talking about balance-wise, there's more to the game in terms of balance than the actual numerical values. ![]()
